Our sustainability strategy: Vaillant is becoming climate-neutral

At Vaillant, climate protection is an important concern that is one of the basic values of our corporate culture. That is why we put a clear focus on renewable energies in our product development many years ago. In addition, we have set ourselves ambitious goals on the way to a green future: We will reduce our CO₂ emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and by 100 percent by 2050. We offset the remaining, unavoidable emissions with our own reforestation projects. Until these two measures are fully effective, we will offset our CO₂ emissions from 2020 with certificates from existing reforestation projects and thus become climate-neutral. Transparency and openness are very important to us in our project. We know that the road ahead is long. But we have decided to take it, together with our specialist partners and customers.

Because climate protection can only be taken together.

Reduction of our CO₂ emissions

Our targets are ambitious: We reduce our yearly CO₂ emissions step by step: until 2030 by 50 percent and until 2050 by 100 percent.

By using "green" electricity

By "green" production

By a sustainable vehicle fleet

By using "green" electricity

A lot of CO₂ can be saved by generating electricity from renewable energy sources with zero emissions. That is why the heating specialist has been supplying its plants and branches in Germany exclusively with green electricity since 2017. Further international locations have now been added and have been gradually converted. The group is working very ambitiously towards the goal of using only green electricity at all locations.

By "green" production

A second major lever is lower energy consumption in the company's own production processes and buildings. Continuous efficiency measures help to steadily reduce gas and electricity consumption - and the associated CO₂ emissions. This includes equipping the buildings and factories with exclusively highly efficient heating devices and the gradual modernization of existing heating and production systems as well as the lighting technology.

By a sustainable vehicle fleet

A third important factor is the vehicle fleet, the CO2 emissions of which the company wants to significantly reduce. To achieve this, the company is continuously optimizing its logistics and route planning, switching to more efficient vehicles or replacing them with hybrid or electric vehicles - if possible and sensible.
